- SATURDAY / SUNDAY: Camp 2 nights at Shangri La Campground in Ocala\
- SATURDAY: Paddle the Rainbow River on Saturday afternoon\
- SUNDAY: Bike Santos Mountain Bike Park\
- MONDAY: Return to Atlanta
PLANNING & GEAR:We will be car camping. Plan for cold/cool nights with warming days. Friday night camping will be COLD in Tifton. Camping in Ocala can be COLD to Cool at night with sudden changes in the weather. Paddling and Biking in January should be cool in the morning, warming in the afternoon but will cool down quickly in the late afternoon/evening. Please be "weather aware" and pack layers. There are full restroom/shower facilities at the Shangri-La campground.PADDLING - The Rainbow River is one of the most scenic rivers in Florida with crystal clear water that maintains a chilly 72 degrees year-round. We have reserved single & double kayaks at Rainbow River Canoe & Kayak for Saturday afternoon http://www.rainbowrivercanoeandkayak.comClosed toe shoes are requiredNo Flip Flops. Bring shorts or zipoff pants, long sleeve sunshirt, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses. water bottle.SANTOS:Santos includes 80+ miles of single-track for beginners to expert level. Helmets and a mulit-geared mountain bike in good working condition are required. There are beginner areas as well. Please check the operating condition of your bicycle prior to the campout and have it tuned up if necessary. Adults must be current with Youth Protection certification.
