WHERE:Woodruff Scout Camp - BackcountryDavis Inn & Trapper Village Backcountry CampsitesBlairsville, GADEPARTURE TIME:Saturday, March 20, 2021, 7:30 am - St. James Activities BuildingRETURN TIME:Sunday, March 21, 2021, 1:00 pm - St. James Activities Building Scouts are required to travel in Class A uniforms DESCRIPTION :BACKPACKING - Woodruff Scout Camp has an amazing 20 mile trail system that ranges from Moderate to Strenuous. We will divide into ability groups that range from beginner level (1-3 miles) to experienced level (3-5+ miles). There will be a separate group for those training for Philmont 2021. We will be camping at the Davis Inn and Trapper Village backcountry campsites.GEAR: This is a backpacking campout and appropriate gear is necessary. There will be no base camp option.Patrols will divide into ability groups based on skill level and the number of scouts and adults who participate.*Hiking boots are strongly recommended.*Backpacks and backpacking tents are required. Please contact the Troop Quartermaster should you need to borrower Troop gear.*Scouts should plan to carry ALL gear and food inside a backpackHEALTH FORM:All participants (Scouts & Adults) on this campout are REQUIRED to have a complete health form on file, including Parts A, B1 & B2, and a copy of the front and back of the health insurance card.COVID 19 Statement - We want to keep our Scouting family healthy and do our best to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. We will be following the guidance of the CDC and the GA Dept. of Health. We ask the following: Prior to departure, make sure you have no signs or symptoms of illness and have not been around anyone who is ill for at least 14 days.Remember the "Three W's" - WASH (or sanitize) hands frequently, WEAR your mask, and WATCH your distance (at least 6 feet apart).We will be wearing masks when social distancing is not possible. Please bring your own mask and expect to wear it.TRANSPORTATION:We will meet at the church on Saturday morning to gather gear & take roll.The troop is NOT able to offer/coordinate carpool transportation during the pandemic. Each Scout will need to arrange its own transportation.Scouts from Troop 370 should always travel in Class A uniformsMEALS :All meals will be planned at the Wednesday campout planning meeting using the patrol method.ADULT PARTICIPATION:We need adults to attend this campout and help lead ability groups, camp setup & meal preparation.Adults must be current with Youth Protection certification.
