Paddling and exploring natural Florida is a favorite Troop 370 experience you won't want to miss. Ginnie Springs www.ginniespringsoutdoors.com is a 200-acre privately owned natural water park tucked away in the forest of North Central Florida. Paddling the Santa Fe River and exploring/swimming in the 7 natural springs both Saturday and Sunday will be our main activities. We will car camp 2 nights at a waterfront campsite along the banks of the Santa Fe River within the park. Full hot showers, restrooms, pavilion w/grilling area, sand volleyball, country store will be available. Swimming, snorkeling and tubing is an option and will be weather dependent. Bring your personal snorkel gear or you can rent it through Ginnie Springs for an additional charge of $12.00/day (not included in camp fee).
The weekend's itinerary: - FRIDAY: Camp 1 night at Camp Benjamin Hawkins in Byron, GA (near Macon) - SATURDAY / SUNDAY: Camp 2 nights at Ginnie Springs in High Springs, FL - SATURDAY AFTERNOON: Group kayak Santa Fe River / Springs Tour - SUNDAY: Group kayak or paddleboard Santa Fe River / Springs Tour

The troop will camp Friday night at Benjamin Hawkins Scout Camp near Macon and depart Saturday morning for FL. Plan for cold weather camping on Friday night. We will camp Saturday and Sunday at Ginnie Springs Outdoors in High Springs, FL.
Closed toe shoes are required - No Flip Flops**. January temperatures in North Central Florida can vary considerably, particularly on and near the water. Bring warm clothes as well as shorts, zipoff pants, long sleeve sunshirt, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses & water bottle and plan to dress accordingly for a variety of weather conditions.

Please bring money for snacks & meals while traveling to and from the campout. Snorkel gear is available to rent directly from Ginnie Springs at an additional cost of $12.00/day.
